A Golden Sour Beer Aged in Oak Barrels With Chardonnay Musqué Grapes
The very first beer Small Pony Barrel Works brewed used malted barley, wheat, and oats. This was back in May of 2017, a full 7 months before we would open our doors. This first beer would not sour quickly at all, so we waited... Several months into cellaring, it began exhibiting delicate wine-like notes, so we chose to age it further on Chardonnay Musqué wine grapes. More than a year later, we are finally ready to kick back, relax, and celebrate the release of these last barrels of our first brew.
